SUNDAY SHORTS #20: The Psychedelic Experience from MONOLITH MAGAZINE on Vimeo.
Jean
Mayo Millay Ph.D. is the author of “Multidimensional
Mind: Remote Viewing in Hyperspace,”
and co-editor of “Silver
Threads: 25 Years of Parapsychology Research”
with Beverly Kane, M.D., and Dean Brown, Ph.D. For thirty-five
years she was involved in psi research and the study of consciousness,
and for six years was president of the Parapsychology Research Group
in San Francisco. She has participated in most of Dr. Ruth-Inge Heinze’s
22 annual conferences on “The Study of Shamanism and Alternate Modes of
Healing,” publishing articles in that journal about the use of trance states
for age regression and for exploring past-life-like experiences.
In 1969-70 she volunteered as a subject for the ground breaking work in dream telepathy at Maimonides Medical Center Dream Lab in Brooklyn conducted by Stanley Krippner, Ph.D. In 1973-74 she was invited by Russell Targ and Hal Puthoff, Ph.D. to draw the pictures for Uri Geller in the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) study of remote viewing that was first published in “Nature” in 1974. As an artist, her ”Stereo Brainwave Biofeedback Light Sculpture,” co-created with Timothy Scully, Ph.D. has been exhibited in museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC in 1972, at the De Young Museum in SF, and in Europe and South America. She and Allan Willis made a short film “The Psychedelic Experience,” which won the “Film As Art” award at the SF International Film Festival in 1965. Timothy Leary, Ph.D., provided the voice over introduction, and Ralph Metzner, Ph.D., provided the voice over guidance for the mind traveler. Famous international musicians, Ravi Shankar and Alla Rakha composed the music while watching the film. This is available now in DVD at East Bay Media Center in Berkeley, CA. at Maketv@aol.com. Millay is a retired computer graphic artist, and is now preparing a presentation for the ISSSEEM conference in Boulder, CO in June 22-27. This is the "Int. Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine." Her presentation will be on, "Using Biofeedback to Teach a Science of Consciousness in Grades 5 Through 12." To make this fun for kids, she has prepared a colorful chart to show how electromagnetic energies from the Sun relate to those of the Earth and to those of Humans. The slower frequencies of Sound also influence human frequencies. By this method, Millay hopes to teach children one of the fundamental ways they are connected to the whole of their environment. The best science book of this new era in scientific understanding of life and the universe is by Dean Radin, Ph.D. "Entangled Minds: Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality". I have been interested in telepathy since my early experiences as a child. My grandfather came to tell me that he had passed on, and I phoned and found out immediatley that it was true. That event stirred my life studies in this field.
